What Does a SysTrust/WebTrust Seal Mean to You?
E-commerce often involves transactions with strangers or over some mysterious
system called the Internet. Most sites are honest. But how about the few
that aren't?
On the Internet, appearances can be deceiving. Who knows what's behind
that cool-looking web page?
And, as recent headlines show, even "brand name" companies may
not always have your best interests in mind. Big name companies taking
liberties with your privacy.
Worse, because it's anonymous, the unscrupulous can easily establish—and
abandon—electronic identities. As a matter of fact, it happens every
day.
Business buyers are concerned about sharing proprietary pricing information,
posting mission-critical inventory levels, and the reliability of their
business service providers.
The home shopper may worry about privacy, credit card theft, getting orders
on time, and how to resolve any problems.
Whether you buy industrial-size orders or CDs on line, SysTrust and WebTrust
can put your mind at ease. We want you to trust the site as reliable,
safe, secure. Plain and simple.
Any site displaying a SysTrust or WebTrust seal has:
- Been examined by a trained and licensed public accounting firm
- Disclosed its business practices
- Been audited to prove the site actually follows those practices
- Met international Trust Services Standards
- An audit report linked to the seal. This report is based on one
or more Trust Services Principle(s) and Criteria.
Worldwide, the public accounting profession is highly regarded as trustworthy.
The public, government, and businesses trust us.

are a good business partner and one that has been independently verified.
Seal Usage Guide:
The AICPA and CICA have developed a seal
usage guide which highlights the standards for the use and display
of the SysTrust and WebTrust seals (the “Marks”). It sets
out the parameters for the display of the seal on practitioners’
sites in support of the program and by clients that have successfully
undergone a SysTrust or WebTrust audit. It also covers the use of the
various Marks by licenses and their clients in promotional materials.
